The purpose of the Jo Daviess County Nuisance program is to define and abate public nuisances in the unincorporated area of the county. This ordinance is designed to prevent the accumulation of refuse, garbage, debris, and inoperable vehicles, as well as to help prevent water contamination and improper disposal of sewage and wastewater. Nuisance conditions can lead to problems with rodents and pests, which may carry diseases.
