The Jo Daviess County Local Emergency Planning Committee is dedicated to the safety of not only the Jo Daviess County community, but also the surrounding communities. Three states converge along the Mississippi River to form this unique Tri-State region.

The Jo Daviess County LEPC is a small, strictly volunteer organization. Funds are provided by the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Department and the Jo Daviess County Council. Some grant monies are also received from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

The LEPC meets on a regular basis and is responsible for emergency planning functions regarding hazardous materials in the county.
